70 years ago, April 8th, was the day when Plitvice lakes got their official title of NATIONAL PARK, making it the oldest national park in Croatia.
This astonishing beauty, spectacular rock formation and unique limestone barriers are what makes our park so special. These are the reasons why it is proclaimed national park in 1949 and got under the protection of UNESCO since 1979.
